Most chairs are pretty boring. They may come in fun colors or shapes, but the majority are static.

The Spyndi, however, can always be in flux. The new lounge chair, created by a small team of Lithuanian designers, can constantly change its shape to fit your mood.

The creators launched a Kickstarter on June 6 and have already raised about half of their $39,781 goal. Early-bird backers can snag a Spyndi for $852 with expected delivery this November.

Each Spyndi consists of 60 birch plywood pieces, which project developer Raimonda Klimasauskaite says are durable, water-resistant, and smooth.

To assemble the chair, you slide and attach the wooden pieces like a puzzle.

Once assembled, the chair can move and bend freely. When you find a position you like, hidden locks at both ends of the chair lock it into shape. You can use an ordinary six-angle wrench to secure the locks, Klimasauskaite says.

You can tailor the ergonomic chair to support your back, neck, and legs. Its instruction manual also includes recommended shapes.

You can add a cushion to make it even more comfy.

The team created the Spyndi for people who don't want to settle for boring furniture — owners can easily switch up their chair's shape at any time.

"Horribly designed furniture desperately needs to be reinvented," Klimasauskaite says.
