Here's how much snow to expect from this weekend's coming storm

A big snowstorm is headed for the US East Coast this weekend.

While some people online have blown it a bit out of proportion, there's still quite a bit of snow headed for parts of the South, the Midwest and the Atlantic corridor.

Wondering how much snow to expect?

The National Weather Service maps below show how likely each area is to see four, six, 12, 18, 24, and 30 inches of snow, respectively.

Use the color key in the bottom left corner to see how likely your area is to get each amount.

Here's the map of areas that can expect at least four inches. New York City has a low chance — about 20% — of getting hit.

These areas might see at least a foot. Washington DC has about a 60% chance of getting a foot of snow or more.

Folks in the colored regions below might get as much as 18 inches, though none of these areas has more than a 50% chance of getting that much.

There's even a tiny — 10% — chance of 30 inches of snowfall in a small chunk of Maryland and Virginia.
