These guys just launched a show on Instagram — and each episode is 15 seconds

Could the next hit show or film appear on a social platform like Instagram?

That's the hope for the team behind "Shield Five," a scripted series released in 15 second bits that premiered on Instagram February 1.

A new episode is being released on the official "Shield Five" account every day, alongside an image that helps expand on the story. The series, which Deadline is referring to as "social cinema," comes from co-creators Adam Dewar and Anthony Wilcox. Wilcox worked as an assistant director for action films "Hot Fuzz" and "Pearl Harbor."

The series follows John Swift, a member of an elite security services team in London. Swift is wanted for theft and murder after a botched diamond heist leaves his former partner dead.

So far, the story jumps between the aftermath of the heist and what happened leading up to it. In the three episodes released so far, we know that Swift isn't a trustworthy guy, but does that mean he's a thief and murderer?

We found out the extent of Swift's crimes from the "Wanted" poster, while a screengrab from his employer's staff directory reveals more information about the mysterious blonde Swift shares a night with in the second episode.

The official site for the series promises 28 total episodes, meaning a binge watch of the entire series is less than five minutes. And with YouTube and Vine both launching new subscription services and creating huge careers for their most followed users, it's entirely possible that this is just the start of a new generation of mobile, streaming content.
