People are freaking out because Microsoft is shutting down one of the best calendar apps

A lot of people are freaking out over the news that the productivity app Sunrise will cease to exist in a few months.

Microsoft, which bought Sunrise earlier this year, told Business Insider Wednesday that it's planning to incorporate some of the calendar's features into the mobile version of its Outlook email app over the next few months. After that, the company will "sunset" Sunrise.

Sunrise is a calendar app that brings together your personal and work calendars and imports your contacts. As my colleague Steve Kovach wrote earlier today, Sunrise "has a gorgeous and intuitive design. I'd be lost without it."

The app even made Tech Insider's recent list of the 100 best apps in the world.
