It will cost $3,000.

This version of the HoloLens will appeal most to tinkerers, programmers and developers. It will let those people take advantage of an early version of the HoloLens to build the first wave of apps for the system, which can let you play games in your living room, or layer virtual elements like time, date, and the weather on top of your physical environment.

To drum up excitement for the augmented reality headset, Microsoft showed off a mind-blowing demo of the HoloLens at its Tuesday event. It showed how a shooting game could be played in any living room — we'll be excited to see how other developers take advantage of this new platform to build new and interesting creations.
