Hyperloop Technologies is just one of the companies trying to bring the Hyperloop to life.

The Hyperloop is basically an advanced rail system that allows people to travel in capsules through tubes at speeds surpassing 500 miles per hour. Musk originally proposed the idea two years ago as a quick, safe, and energy efficient way to travel between San Francisco and Los Angeles. He made all of his research open source and since then several private companies have been working on commercializing the technology.
