‘Game of Thrones’ actors say fans could see more scenes between Tormund and Brienne

The past two "Game of Thrones" episodes have been a wild roller coaster of ups and downs, but one minor thread keeps fans coming back for more: Tormund the wildling’s crush on Brienne of Tarth.

A humorous Easter egg director Dan Sackheim and later "Lost" director Jack Bender worked into the characters’ scenes, fans immediately picked up on the moment. And it turns out, we could be getting more.

Both Kirstofer Hivju, the actor who plays the wildling leader, as well as Gwendolyn Christie, who plays the fearsome Brienne, have weighed in on viewer’s "shipping" Tormund and Brienne in new interviews with Screen Crush and Entertainment Weekly, respectively.

Hivju said in his interview that shooting the scenes with Christie was "a lot of fun."

"She’s a great actress and she’s a walking, laughing machine," he said. "It was a day of doing that. Some of the scenes are deleted. But we had a lot of fun and nobody saw that coming."

Christie agreed the pair had a blast shooting the memorable scenes. “Kristofer is absolutely hilarious,” she told EW. "I don’t think I’ve been in a scene on 'Game of Thrones' when it’s been everything I can do to stop myself from laughing. The way he was behaving toward me was just extraordinary."

Excitingly, both hinted that there are deleted scenes with Tormund and Brienne — and we may even get to see them eventually.

"What’s in your [Brienne and Tormund] deleted scenes?" Screen Crush asked Hivju. "Ah, you’ll see when the extra material comes out," he said enigmatically.

Christie revealed to EW one of the moments included Sansa teasing Brienne about the wildling's crush on her, "and you had the powerful warrior who’s totally flustered."

Fans loved the potential "Game of Thrones" coupling so much, they even started to make memes and get creative with couple nicknames for the pair, from "Tormienne" to "Bormund." Hivju even had one of his own: "Briemund the Tarth Bane," Hivju joked. "I think that’s the one."

"He’s been so occupied with war that he hasn’t been able to think about girls," he added about his character. "So finally there was a match for him walking in Castle Black."

Sadly, we probably won't see much more of this pair in season six. Based on a scene in the full-length trailer, we know Brienne winds up in the Riverlands and Tormund was spotted in the trailer at what looks like a big northern battle.

But here’s hoping showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss will let us have the "Briemund the Tarth Bane" deleted scenes we all deserve.
