People are complaining that Apple automatically charged them after their Apple Music trial ended

Those who signed up for Apple Music's three-month free trial when it was first released on June 30 are starting to pay $9.99 for a subscription.

If you like Apple Music, chances are that you were expecting the $9.99 charge you received when your three-month free trial ended.

But some forgot to cancel the automatic subcritpion renewal, which is turned on by default in Apple Music's settings.

As a result, they're being charged $9.99 for a service they don't want, and they're channeling their anger through the usual channels.

It's definitely annoying, but some are exaggerating a little about the severity of being charged for something they don't want. There are definitely worse things.

It's pretty bad when you're impoverished by Apple.

It can be argued that it's really your fault for forgetting to cancel the automatic subscription renewal. At the same time this person from a tech site Ars Technica's forum suggests what Apple should have done, and it's a good point:

Some are seeing the upside, like Taylor Swift fans:

We tried to tell you that Apple would activate the paid subscription to Apple Music after the three-month trial, and we even told you how to de-activate it. Just in case, here's a quick refresh:

Go to your account in the Apple Music app. Tap "View Apple ID" > tap "Manage" > tap "Your membership." Then tap the automatic renewal switcher to the off position.

Still, setting an automatic renewal after a free trial by default is a pretty common. So be careful when signing up for free trials for other services in the future.
