Why more people have allergies today than ever before

It seems like many more kids today have allergies than their grandparents did. Peanut allergies in particular have quadrupled in the last two decades, though the rate is still only around 2% of children in the US. Dr. Clifford Bassett, an allergist and immunologist at Allergy and Asthma Care of New York, explains the many reasons why both food and seasonal allergies could be on the rise worldwide.
