If you're using the 'Game of Thrones' hashtag, you're missing out on the show's best commentary

It may seem counter intuitive, but if you're using the #GameofThrones tag to discuss the HBO smash hit series, you're doing yourself a disservice. Shame! 

For "Game of Thrones," where every scene, costume detail and spoken line is analyzed and researched, thousands of fans use the obvious #GameofThrones tag to live tweet the show. But many are missing out on the best "Thrones" commentary the internet has to offer. Presenting: #DemThrones. 

The tweets go all the way back to 2012, when the HBO hit was only in its second season. The tag comes courtesy of the Fiyastarter podcast. Fiyastarter creators Basa, TKO, and K Badd recap the show and talk the latest news in sports, hip-hop, film, and TV. The podcast was started in 2011 and has over 200 episodes.  

There are a number of Black Twitter offshoots of mainstream tags, including both of AMC's landmark zombie shows "The Walking Dead" and "Fear The Walking Dead" (#demdeadz), Showtime's Victorian horror drama, "Penny Dreadful" (#demdreads), and USA's psychological thriller Mr. Robot (#datrobot), all mixing humorous memes, reactions, and social commentary. 

#DemThrones has become so popular that it has been trending the past two Sundays while "Game of Thrones" has aired on the East coast.
