We've all been there. You sit down on the couch, turn on Netflix, and the next thing you know, you've spent 20 minutes scrolling through shows and movies without finding a single thing you actually want to watch.

You feel like you've seen everything before, the recommended choices don't look interesting, and it's only a matter of time before you give in and watch the season two premier of "House of Cards" for the umpteenth time. (Yes, that episode).

Well, we've got a solution for your streaming struggles.

Turns out, there's a secret set of codes that make it easy to browse Netflix based on hyper-specific categories.

Looking for a "sci-fi adventure for kids ages 8 to 10"?

What about a "suspenseful movie starring Brad Pitt"?

Using these codes, it's easy to quickly sort through programs to find something you really want to watch.

Now instead of scanning through a seemingly-endless list of romcoms, I just punch in number 3797 ( the code for romantic comedies starring Cary Grant) and I'm just a click away from watching "His Girl Friday."

Here's how it works:

Head here to see a complete list of Netflix category codes. From there, you'll need to type this address into your address bar: http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/####.

Instead of the pound signs at the end of the URL, just add your desired code and you'll be good to go.

Fair warning, not all of the categories have titles in them yet. You won't find anything in the "guidance movies starring muppets" category, but with hundreds of other options, we bet you'll be able to find something.

Happy streaming!
