“Uncharted 4,” easily one of the most anticipated games of 2016, has unfortunately been delayed.

The PlayStation 4 exclusive game was initially scheduled to launch on March 26, 2016. It will now release one month later on April 26.

The game’s creative director and game director — Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, respectively — announced the news Wednesday morning on the PlayStation blog.

“We need a bit more time to finish the game so that it meets our standards and vision,” the developers said in the blog post.

Naughty Dog, the company behind the “Uncharted” series and a subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment, has produced several critically acclaimed games including the original “Crash Bandicoot” series and “The Last of Us,” which won several Game of the Year awards in 2013.

“Uncharted 4,” which will be the final chapter in the company’s action adventure game franchise, is easily Naughty Dog’s biggest production yet. But the company needs an extra month to “get a few more polish passes” before it sends the final game for manufacturing.

“The team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner. However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line. After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule.”

“Uncharted 4” will be available on the PlayStation 4 starting April 26, 2016.
