Toyota just introduced a new hybrid to its Prius line called the Prius Prime, and it boasts a range twice as large as its predecessor.

The Prius Prime was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show Wednesday. With a better all-electric range and semi-autonomous features, the Prius Prime is worth looking out for.

Here's a closer look at Toyota's Prius Prime:

The Prius Prime comes with an 8.8 kWh battery that gives it 22 miles of all-electric range — that's double what we saw in the 2016 Toyota Prius.

All together, that means the Prius Prime has a full range of 600 miles.

The car charges in a little over 5 hours when using a standard unit at home, and regenerative braking recaptures energy when decelerating.

Inside the car is a 4.4-inch center console display. Drivers can connect their phone to the display and control it using buttons on the steering wheel.

The Prius Prime also comes with its own app that lets you look up your car's charging status, control the temperature, and look up nearby charging stations.

The car can park itself in both regular and parallel parking spots. It can even help you locate where available parking exists.

There's no information yet on pricing or specs, but you can try the car for yourself in the fall.
