A Twitter account accidentally confused Whoopi Goldberg with Oprah Winfrey

Whoopi Goldberg was one of the first stars to arrive on the 2016 Academy Awards red carpet, but one Twitter account accidentally confused her with Oprah Winfrey.

The beauty account Total Beauty tweeted, “We had no idea @Oprah was #tatted, and we love it,” the account tweeted along with a photo of Goldberg.

Oops.

Though the tweet was deleted soon after, that didn’t stop savvy Twitter users from quickly retweeting and taking pictures of the gaffe and sharing it.

Jokes and GIFs were also shared by users.

(That last tweet references Oprah's enthusiastic commercial for Weight Watchers.)

The mistake is especially disconcerting given the controversy surrounding #OscarsSoWhite, the movement started to boycott the lack of diversity at the 2016 Oscars.
