Nissan's concept car is targeting millennials with loads of screens and a camera

Nissan has unveiled an incredible concept car. It's covered with touchscreens, a camera, and lots of other icons of the modern era.

The Japanese automaker says that the car is "designed especially for the digital native generation." So if you feel you don't have enough screen time on a regular basis, this may be the car for you. Called the "Teatro for Dayz" (really), the car is supposed to give owners and passengers an easier way to share their experiences. It is meant to appeal to so-called "share natives" who "want a car to be a versatile tool for creativity like a smartphone."

"What share natives want from cars is not the joy of driving or their own private space, but a better way to connect with friends and share experiences," Hidemi Sasaki, Nissan's product planning general manager, says in the press release.

When the car is not in "drive mode," it's a simple white car with a sparse interior that consists of a steering wheel, a brake pedal and an accelerator. More simply put, if it's not in "drive mode," it's an unusable car-like object. But once the car is put into drive mode? The displays light up. The driver can adjust the size and position of the meters/gauges and car navigation information on the display. Unnecessary information that pops up can be hidden. Selfies can be taken.

The rest of the car's interior lights up too. The displays can be adjusted to reflect a specific season or "simply the vibe of the day." An onboard camera allows passengers to take photos inside the car.

The car's name, "Teatro" (Italian for "theater") reflects how the car can be the center of whatever experience it is being used for, such as a music festival. The car is purposely small (a so-called "minicar") to resemble the compact smartphones that "share natives" carry around.

The Teatro for Dayz is an electric vehicle that can be used to charge phones and other devices; The press release doesn't get into details about the motor, how far the car can go on a single charge, or how long it would take to charge the car. Important details!

This sounds like a distraction-induced car accident waiting to happen, no?

Let's explore the Teatro for Dayz and find out just how distracting its interior could be.

When the car isn't in drive mode, it's as simplistic and minimalist as a car can get.

But once drive mode is activated, the entire interior lights up. Is that a party, or a car interior?

The driver's dashboard can be adjusted to show as much or as little as they want to see. Here's one that shows the weather forecast for the week.

Here's another example of a dashboard display. In this one, the driver can have a group chat (which sounds SUPER unsafe to me).

The interior of the car can be changed to reflect a specific "vibe." In this case, an earthy, golf course kind of vibe. Maybe they're headed to Augusta?

If only these seats are as comfy as they look....

Passengers can see the same display as the driver.

At the very least, it's small enough to make parallel parking easy.
