This picture of a unicorn perfectly sums up that dumb Facebook hoax

You may have seen the viral — and wildly untrue — posts on Facebook claiming that co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg will give you some of his fortune if you share the post.

But did you hear that if you share this photo of a "magical unicorn" Zuck will give you one of the mythical beasts?

The one about the unicorn, popularized by Joe Coletta, a 39-year-old firefighter in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, is about as likely to come true as Zuck giving you some of his money. But it's a lot funnier. And it's going viral.

As of Tuesday, the post, which was actually made by Coletta's friend (he asked him if it was OK if he posted it) had been shared more than 34,000 times and gotten more than 33,000 likes. Coletta posted it on Sunday and after a few hours it had hundreds of likes.

And then the friend requests started rolling in.

"I actually had to disable friend requests because I had over 1,000," Coletta told Tech Insider. "I made it so only friends of friends could request me."
