There's a secret Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Airbnb in NYC you can stay for free

If you're a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan and are in the New York City area for the next month, you may want to check out Airbnb.

In anticipation of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" in theaters June 3, the rental service partnered with Viacom Labs to give fans access to the dream hangout space for free. Fans can rent out the space for one day only from now until the movie's in theaters. You can check here for availability.

It's the first of several planned Airbnb ventures from Viacom (which owns Paramount Pictures and networks including MTV, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon). Tech Insider recently headed over to the secret Airbnb lair located in Tribeca to check it out.

The Ninja Turtles' secret New York City lair is available to rent for free on Airbnb from May 14 - June 2.

If you are lucky enough to land the space, you'll be given the space's secret NYC location filled with a lot of turtle swag.

After walking down a few narrow dark corridors, it feels like you're stepping into a secret dojo used by the crime fighters.

Fake grates were put on the walls to make it feel like you're inside a sewer space.

15 to 20 people are allowed to hang out in the Airbnb during the day, but only six people can stay overnight.

Production designer Amy Gavin designed the lair, which came together over the past month.

The entire space was transformed in three days using inspiration from the first film and the sequel out in June to help decorate.

Yes, those are real boomboxes — one of the many intricate details that can be spotted in the sweet sewer loft.

A table in the living room space is covered in one of the turtle's favorite catchphrases.

The entire loft is covered in custom art by graffiti artist Blake KEO Lethem.

Gavin tells Tech Insider she gave him some references and key phrases and he went to town covering most of the space in tags.

Some iconic items from the franchise were important for Gavin to have in the space, like the gang's weaponry and surfboards.

... along with the turtle's skateboards, which can be spotted hanging off of the second floor balcony.

Hanging overhead is a massive dragon which came together pretty last minute.

One of Gavin's favorite details is a little Splinter (the Ninja Turtle's sensei) tucked away in his own little nook. Can you spot him?

There he is! Gavin says they found him on eBay.

The neon basketball hoop and mini court is another favorite addition.

"That was one of the things that I felt wasn't necessarily a Ninja Turtle thing," said Gavin. "But who doesn't want to play basketball inside?"

When you're done on the court, take it back with an old school Konami arcade-style Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. The cat's there for luck.

Naturally, pizza boxes are lying all over the loft space. Pizza is a favorite food of the turtles.

But visitors won't be greeted solely by empty boxes. They'll be treated to pizza plus some swag when they leave the lair.

Upstairs, fans can head to a giant lounge space ...

... where you can play the latest Ninja Turtle game, "Mutants in Manhattan" ...

... or jam out on a guitar and drum set.

When you're done rocking out, you can lounge under a canopy.

For those who get to spend the night, they'll be invited up to a spacious TMNT-themed apartment.

Three bedrooms will be available for fans.

Each one will be decorated with plenty of turtle swag.

Pillows, sheets, and Ninja Turtles-themed games will be on display.

Wall spaces will also have plenty of turtle takeover.

Even the bathrooms are shrouded in green.

Turtle toothpaste? Sure!

Check in at the Airbnb will be at 3 p.m. and visitors will have to be out by 11 a.m. the following morning.
