After keeping her latest album off competing streaming services like Spotify, the pop star announced on Sunday that the documentary for her "1989" world tour will premiere only on Apple Music later this month.

"I have a little surprise for you," Swift wrote in an Instagram post with a trailer for the documentary, which is directed by Jonas Akerlund and premieres exclusively on Apple Music December 20.

A longer one-minute trailer was also shared on Swift's YouTube account:

The documentary will have "never seen footage filmed backstage and during rehearsals with surprise musical and special guests that appeared on The 1989 World Tour," according to Swift's website. It was filmed in front of 76,000 fans in Sydney, Australia on November 28, 2015.

Swift partnering with Apple is a significant win for the company's streaming music service, which had 6.5 million paying subscribers in October.

It's also an interesting deal considering that Swift's album almost never made it on Apple Music to begin with. The singer publicly criticized Apple for not paying artists during the service's three-month trial this summer, which caused Apple to reverse its stance and agree to pay royalties during the period.

Swift will be a guest on Apple's Beats 1 radio station with Zane Lowe on Monday, December 14, where she'll presumably talk more about the tour documentary.
