Those tuning in early for 'The Daily Show' finale Thursday might be in for a shock from one of Comedy Central's funniest shows

Thursday August 6 marks the end of an era. Jon Stewart will step down as host of "The Daily Show" after a remarkable 16-year run. While many people might usually be more willing to watch the next day, this seems like an episode worth watching live.

This serves as an advantage for Andy Daly, the star and co-creator of Comedy Central's bizarre, dark, and brilliant "Review", which will serve as the lead-in for Stewart on Thursday.

In "Review", Daly plays Forrest MacNeil, a critic who hosts a TV show in which he reviews life experiences. Sometimes, that will be something as seemingly benign as eating a stack of pancakes. Other times, he has to review the experience of getting divorced.

Monday, he alluded that those tuning in for "The Daily Show" a few minutes early might be greeted by a surprise:

That tweet reads, "The last scene of this week's #Review is so extreme & disgusting, the idea of someone tuning in a little early to Jon Stewart's last show and seeing it out of context is the perfect combination of wonderful & horrible."

The topic that will close this week's episode is "what it's like to join the mile high club."

Tech Insider caught up with Daly to discuss "Review" and inquired about his Monday afternoon tweet. He's very aware that many recording the show or tuning in a few minutes early may see the end of his show out of context.

"The way that that mile high club segment ends, just the idea, because I know people set their TiVos to record one minute before and whatever. A lot of people are gonna be tuning in early for Jon Stewart's last show and they're gonna see the way our mile high club segment ends and they're just gonna see that and it's just gonna melt their brains." Daly told Tech Insider.

However, Daly didn't know this would happen when he was writing and filming the episode.

"I had no idea,"Daly explained. "We had a big marketing meeting with Comedy Central where they were sort of running through when the billboards were gonna go up. And one of them said, 'Oh by the way, your second episode is the lead-in for Jon Stewart's last show. So we're expecting to get a lot of attention from that.' And I immediately went, 'Uh oh!'"

However, that might not have made a difference, because nearly every episode of this show is dark and uncomfortable on some level. In fact, the season two premiere ended with Forrest having to find and review glory holes. The episode was called "Brawl, Blackmail, Gloryhole."

"It will serve those people right for not tuning in from the beginning of 'Review'!" Daly joked.

"Review," which is currently in its second season, airs on Comedy Central every Thursday at 10:30 p.m.
