Only 1 in 5 people who have Apple Pay actually use it

Only about one in five people who have phones with Apple Pay, the year-old mobile payments service from Apple, actually use it. That's according to a new survey from Trustev, a company that helps retailers and banks prevent online fraud.

Other studies, however, have found that more people actually use Apple Pay. According to the the Auriemma Consulting Group, 42% of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus owners have used Apple Pay, and people who use the feature are very satisfied with it.

A Samsung spokesperson told Tech insider that when the company beta-tested Samsung Pay in the US, 88% of people who used it said they were most likely to continue using the feature. And 85% of those said they were most likely to recommend it to a colleague or friend. Samsung also said last week that people in the US who use Samsung Pay are likely to use it again.

A Google spokesperson told Tech Insider that the company has seen millions of people set up Android Pay since it became available in the US in September.
