The people behind 'Minecraft' have a new game and it's totally free

"Minecraft" is one of the biggest games on the planet — a new generation's "Super Mario!" Maybe you've heard of it.

Microsoft bought Mojang, the company that made it, for $2.5 billion

And Mojang just released a new game! This time, unlike "Minecraft," it's totally free. The game is "Crown and Council," and it puts you in control of an empire seeking to conquer land and squash enemies. Think of it like "Risk," except it doesn't take five hours to complete (hopefully.)

The levels are randomly generated, which means you'll always have more to play — they're created anew every time you start a new game session using algorithms. Check out the full trailer here for a better idea of what the game's about:

Look like your jam? Head over to Steam right here and pick it up — it's free!
