Many fans attending the Football Playoff National Championship likely paid a pretty penny to see the Huskies and the Wolverines face off.

The average cost of tickets to Monday night's big game is $2,845, according to data from SeatGeek obtained by Axios.

Michigan and Washington, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, will play each other at Houston's NRG Stadium in a game that costs about $1,100 more to attend than last year's national championship, the data showed.

There's a wide range in the asking prices. On the ticket reseller's website, Business Insider found at least one ticket priced as low as $956 and tickets in Section 110 of the stadium can cost as much as $44,720.

But this year's game has the highest average ticket cost for CFP national championship since the 2017 game between Alabama and Georgia — tickets were about $3,035 back then, SeatGeek reported.

A win by Michigan or Washington will be the first time either team has won a national title since the 1990s. Both the Huskies and Wolverines went undefeated this season.
