Netflix’s documentary “Making a Murderercontinues to attract more and more attention as people learn about the Wisconsin murder of Teresa Halbach in 2005.

And now, fans of the series will finally have access to some of the original Manitowoc court files thanks to a Redditor named Skipp Topp.

Because the documentary focuses on Steven Avery while portraying seemingly corrupt authority figures, potentially planted evidence, and an arguably coerced confession, many viewers are not con viced that Avery is guilty of Halbach’s murder. Then Manitowoc County authority figures came forward to say evidence was missing from the documentary, including Avery’s DNA under the hood of Halbach’s car and a bullet found in Avery’s garage with Halbach’s DNA.

In order to access the full case file, you'd have to fork over $3,500 through the Manitowoc County Circuit Court because it charges $1.25 per page fee for making copies, or $.50 if you’re a court reporter. Skipp Topp, with the help of two court reporters, decided to raise the money on Fund Anything to try and access the entire case file and make it public.

After a week and over 100 contributions, he raised over $2,500, enough for all 27 days of trial testimony.

The docs were sent to Skipp Topp and uploaded on January 19 to this website, with the exception of day 3 which will be uploaded by the end of the weekend. The transcripts are also searchable.

In addition to the trial transcripts, Skipp Topp has compiled photos from the investigation and trial as well Avery's appeal documents, some of the search warrants, and affidavits.

Skipp Topp is still raising funds to try and publish the remainder of the Avery trial documents online, including transcripts from the hearings that took place before and after the trial, evidence exhibits presented during the trial, motions filed by the defense and the state, and more. If you’d like to donate, you can find more information here.

Skipp Topp is not the only Redditor who has gained access to materials from the "Making a Murderer" case. Another Reddit user called Emmerline had also requested materials through a Wisconsin friend who physically traveled to the Clerk’s Office. Emmerline’s documents include the phone records, EDTA analysis and results, and interviews with witnesses and experts.
