Your iPhone's privacy has been big news recently.

Apple and the FBI have been going head to head over whether or not the government has the right to force Apple to assist in unlocking the iPhone belonging to the suspected San Bernidino shooter Syed Farook.

Apple has taken a strong stance against breaking the iPhone's encryption. And now, it looks like the company will be giving iPhone users even more privacy protection in the new iOS 9.3. Specifically, the company has included a feature that enables iPhone users to know if their employer is monitoring them.

Reddit user MaGNeTiX was the first to spot the feature in the latest iOS 9.3 beta. When employers provide their workers with iPhones they can connect them to a mobile device management system (MDM). Once a device is on an MDM the employer can choose to monitor web traffic and other usage.

Now, if they monitor their employees iPhone or iPad use, this message comes up at the bottom of the screen:

It also shows up within the device menu:

Other Reddit users whose employers monitored them through MDMs reported seeing the message as well. It appears to only show up if the phone is being actively monitored through one of these systems, not if its simply connected to an MDM.

This could be a boon to less-tech-literate iPhone users who may not realize their boss can watch what they get up to on the company phone. It won't do anything to protect against NSA surveillance however.
