This Italian makeup artist transforms herself into celebrities — and the results are astounding

Lucia Pittalis, an Italian makeup artist as well as portrait painter and drawer, uses her face as a canvas for her art.

For Halloween in 2012, she started experimenting with face painting and celebrity transformations. After her early success, she's been transforming herself ever since, she told Tech Insider.

Her Instagram account now has over 40,000 followers waiting to see who she'll become next, and Pittalis was even featured recently on Imgur where a user showcased some of her best work.

The 45-year-old artist uses professional makeup and grease paint to create such realistic looks. Doing a new transformation usually takes more than three hours, she says.
