During Sunday night's MTV VMAs, Kanye West announced he would run for president in 2020.
The internet went wild. #YesWeKanye was trending within minutes, and those Photoshop skills were coming in pretty handy. (Read more about his speech here.)
Monday morning, Shaun King tweeted the following:
Let's be real. If your ONLY TWO CHOICES were Trump or Kanye, who would you vote for? Retweet for Kanye. Favorite for Trump.
Billionaire investor Chris Sacca noticed something crazy within the first few minutes: No one was favoriting the tweet in support of Trump, but 179 people had retweeted it in support of West.
In initual and unofficial Twitter polls, Kanye's potential presidency created a very rare occurrence on Twitter: A tweet that racks up dozens of retweets but not one single favorite.
