Judy Blume, the beloved author of the 1970 novel “Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret,” does more than just tweet about her book tour and respond to fans — she’ll also help save your marriage.
When Brooklyn resident Leonard Lasek accidentally gave away his new wife Katie’s copy of “Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret,” Katie was devastated. The book, one of Blume's first literary hits, had immense sentimental value.
Lasek began posting fliers around her neighborhood asking if anyone had seen or taken her copy of "Margaret."
Instagrammers in Brooklyn saw the fliers and brought it to Blume’s attention.
Blume tweeted about it, responding sympathetically with an offer to send Lasek a similar copy, though she worried it would not be that exact cover, which was the 1986 paper back.

She enlisted the internet’s help to make contact with Lasek and even included her own personal email for anyone who could give her the address.

Though Blume remains hopeful that Katie’s original book will still show up, she is sending a book her way with the hopes that Katie's new version of "Margaret" will give her a wonderful story to tell.
