The men were previously charged, but this is the first time they have been linked to the massive JPMorgan Chase data breach that occurred in 2014, according to the report. The hack compromised information of 76 million household accounts, as well as 7 million small business accounts. Compromised customer data included names, phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses.

Bharara  has scheduled a press conference for 1 p.m. ET Tuesday to explain the expanded charges.

According to the indictment, cited by Bloomberg, the cyber attack targeted a business news publication, brokerages, and "one of the world's biggest banks." JPMorgan has confirmed to Business Insider that it was the victim of the attack.
