There's already a Saint West — and he's a rapper from Vancouver

The most highly-anticipated baby name of the year was revealed today — but it looks like it might already be taken.

Kim Kardashian West gave birth to a son on Saturday, December 5, but didn't announce his name until today. After months of speculation that the baby's name would be Easton or South to match older sister North's directional name, we learned that Kimye went the eccelsiastical route and named their kid Saint West.

But as it turns out, there's already a Saint West — and coincidentally, he's a rapper, just like baby Saint's dad. 

Saint West 1.0's Google track record is basically nonexistent, but he did have a Twitter and a MySpace that were frozen in time since around 2011. It's not likely that Saint West is his birth name; we couldn't find any record of him besides his Twitter and MySpace accounts, which focus on his rap career.

We found the account thanks to Thrillist writer David Infante, who retweeted the original Saint West after news of the baby name broke:

@SaintWest's Twitter account has since switched to @SaintWest__, though. In the above tweet, Infante was highlighting a tweet of Saint's from 2011 that said, "Rap music ruined my life." Prescient!

Now, all of Saint West's tweets, like the one below from 2009, are coming from his new name, @SaintWest__.

Meanwhile, @SaintWest has changed into a parody account whose owner says they got the handle through pure luck after @SaintWest__ added the underscores to his name. However, the below tweet explaining that has been deleted:

Parody account and name changes aside, it remains that Saint West the Rapper has apparently existed since 2009 or earlier. So who is he? What's his deal?

Here's what we know: Saint West hails from Vancouver and joined Twitter in March 2009. His full stage name might be Saint West + The Outer Gods — the latter half of which could be an H.P. Lovecraft reference, which means he's a scifi fan!

He has yet to make it big — this reporter was his 39th Twitter follower. He has tweeted 56 times and is following 50 people.

He has only faved one tweet in his life. It was his own:

Also, Saint West the Rapper's default photo is totally unique. We searched Google for the image and it got no results, making it even harder to pin down who this guy really is.

He also still has a his MySpace page, whose URL he'd tweeted a few times since 2009.

If you follow that link, you will actually have the pleasure of hearing some of Saint West's work. He organizes his nine tracks into two albums: SAINT WEST and sainthood.

His first track, dating back to 2007, is "Handle Business." At a slim 1:01 long, it's the most popular of his singles, with 1,976 plays.

Coming in last is "day dreamn" with only three plays. Honorable mention: "SAINT STYLE," a Saint West anthem of sorts which has 1,322 listens.
