Apple might kill the two most annoying things about the iPhone's design

If the rumors are true, this year's iPhone 7 should look dramatically different from the existing iPhone 6 and 6s.

There have already been multiple reports that Apple plans to remove the headphone jack in the next iPhone, and a new rumor suggests that other major physical changes are coming.

MacRumors reported on Tuesday that the iPhone 7 won't have rear antenna lines or a rear camera bulge. Citing "a source who has provided reliable information in the past," the site said that a thicker camera module will allow for Apple to remove the infamous bulge that keeps the iPhone from laying flush on a flat surface. Antenna lines will still be used around the sides of the iPhone 7, but they won't appear along the back of the phone, according to the report. Apple has never revealed exactly why the lines exist, but they are believed to help improve the iPhone's signal. Apple has presumably found a way to maintain signal quality and not have the lines be visible on the back of the device.

The larger iPhone 7 Plus is also expected to have an upgraded dual-lens rear camera. Apple is rumored to be holding a media event for the smaller, cheaper "iPhone 5se" in March, but the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will likely not be unveiled until at least September.
