You may not be able to get the iPad Pro's most important add-ons for another month

The iPad Pro, the gigantic new productivity-focused tablet from Apple, was officially released today.

But if you want the $169 attachable Smart Keyboard or $99 Apple Pencil stylus you need to really get the most out of your new iPad Pro, you'll have to wait another three to four weeks.

It's a bummer for those who wanted to try out the Apple iPad Pro as a potential laptop replacement.

This screenshot of the Apple Pencil listing comes via Apple's online store, taken Wednesday afternoon:

The Smart Keyboard, too:

We checked whether the Pencil and Keyboard were available for pickup at the Apple Store in San Francisco and struck out there, too.

We've also heard independently from a third-party software vendor that Apple is saying the Pencil won't be broadly available for a few more weeks.

It's especially disappointing given that without these accessories, the iPad Pro, which starts at $799 for a 32GB model with WiFi, is just a really big, expensive iPad — without any of the features that Apple CEO Tim Cook claims will let it replace your laptop

We've reached out to Apple for comment and will update if we hear back.
