For Instagram users, the number 11 is key.
After 11 people like your photo, the likes appear as a total number, rather than a list of names of people who liked the picture. It's a sign, at least according to some, that you've got a "good" Instagram on your hands and getting to that all important 11th like can even be a source of stress.

In case you're still confused, here's how it works. My latest post only has two likes, so each of the usernames appear individually. When (or if) 11+ people like the photo, the count will appear as a number.
But now, some users are reporting that all of their likes are appearing as numbers, rather than names.
We first noticed this change after Vanity Fair's Maya Kosoff pointed it out on Twitter.

For now, as somebody who has been known to — and mocked for — liking her own Instagram photos to get to the golden number 11, this feature can't come soon enough.
