While a detailed video leaked on Monday and spoiled the surprise, it didn't tell you about the camera and other fancy specs HTC packed into the 10.

The HTC 10 has chamfered edges on the back that look ultra-premium.

It's a welcome change from the general design HTC used for its last three phones. The front panel is now all glass compared to the glass/metal combo from the One M9.

HTC also ditched its signature "brushed metal" look.

The 5.2-inch screen is super-sharp with a 564 pixels-per-inch resolution.

It has a microSD slot so you can store more photos, videos, and music on the HTC 10. Unlike the LG G5 and Galaxy S7, the HTC 10 lets you install apps on the microSD card.

It also features USB-C for fast charging and data transfer speeds.

You'll still find HTC's own layer of software with HTC apps and design elements on top of pure Android.

But the software changes are minimal. For example, the notification and quick-settings shade looks like pure Android.

The 10 runs on the powerful Snapdragon 820 chip, too, which gives it smooth and fast performance.

And you'll be able to buy an unlocked model that won't come with the annoying extra apps (bloatware) that carriers add to phones.

It has a 12-megapixel "UltraPixel" camera that performs well in low-light situations and features optical image stabilization (OIS) to prevent blurry shots from shaky hands. It also records 4K video.

It's also the first smartphone camera to feature OIS on the front-facing camera, which is great for the selfie-takers out there.

It has a great, fast fingerprint sensor that rivals the super-fast TouchID sensor on the iPhone 6s. It'll work with Google's mobile payments system Android Pay.

The HTC 10 will go on pre-order on Tuesday for $699. You can buy it unlocked from HTC or from your carrier.

While the HTC 10 seems like a nice phone, the price is a bit steep. It costs $50 more than an iPhone or the Samsung Galaxy S7, yet doesn't appear to offer any compelling reasons to choose it over its rivals.
