Harrison Ford really wants to make another 'Indiana Jones' movie

Just one more "Indy" movie with Harrison Ford, please? ‘Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom’/LucasFilm

Harrison Ford might be reprising the role of Han Solo in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" next month, but there's another iconic part he really wants to revisit.

"I’d love to do another Indiana Jones,” Ford told Entertainment Weekly. “A character that has a history and a potential, kind of a rollicking good movie ride for the audience, Steven Spielberg as a director — what’s not to like?”

It's not a crazy idea.

After Disney purchased Lucasfilm for $4 billion in 2012, it worked out a deal with Paramount Pictures — the studio which has distributed every "Indiana Jones" film — to have the rights to all future Indy movies.

Since then, there have been rumors and discussions of a fifth "Indiana Jones" movie.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told Vanity Fair it would definitely happen "one day." According to Cinemablend, cinematographer Janusz Kaminski went so far as to say a fifth "Indiana Jones" movie was his next project last year.

In October, during press for "Bridge of Spies," Steven Spielberg told Yahoo! Movies he'll "probably do an Indy 5 with Harrison."

But don't get overly excited just yet. Disney CEO Bob Iger has previously said while they'd "love to make another 'Indiana Jones' movie," with all the "Star Wars" films in the works, the company wants to pace themselves.

Disney has a lot going for them between Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm projects for the next several years as it is.

While another Indy movie may definitely be a challenge for the 73-year-old Ford, perhaps his eagerness is to make up for the last film in the franchise.

Though a commercial success, 2008's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is by far the most critiqued of the franchise

Of course, Ford may have to fight Hollywood's favorite leading man of the moment, Chris Pratt, who was rumored to be Disney's first pick if they were to reboot the franchise.

But who wouldn't want to see Ford back as Indy one more time?
