Everyone is worried about their digital security these days. Even Mark Zuckerberg, who should have significantly more security than the average person, covers his laptop's camera with tape.
But, computers aren't the device we spend the most time with, nor are the y the ones that have the most access to us. For a lot of people, myself included, the center of our digital life is our phone. My phone is either in my line of sight, or in my pocket, for 90% of my day.
Because I rely on my iPhone's camera so much (it's the main reason I look forward to each phone upgrade), I don't want to mess it up with tape. Thankfully, I don't have to because of the EyePatch Case.
The EyePatch Case wraps completely around the back and over part of the front of your phone, and has two shutters that can be opened and closed. These shutters serve a couple of purposes: first, they clean your camera because their underside is made of a soft felt. Second, they block your camera, so if anyone were able to remotely enable your iPhone's camera, they'd get a whole lot of nothing.
Because of how seriously Apple takes security, that's not the most likely scenario, but this case is definitely the equivalent of a piece of gaffer's tape without any of the sticky residue. The other major benefit to using this case is that if you keep its shutters closed, your camera has an extra layer of protection from falls. If you drop your iPhone on uneven concrete, there's a chance you could crack or scratch your lens — pretty much ruining it.
So depending on how you look at it, this could be a case that protects your camera and also happens to be extra secure, or a case that keeps people from snooping, but also protects your camera. Either way, it's a win-win.
