At just 7-years-old, Britt, who lives in Gainesville, Virginia, was learning about the Flint water crisis from his parents, who explained to him that not all kids are given the things he was given. Britt and his parents decided to send bottled water to Eisenhower Elementary School in Flint, The Washington Post reports, but when they called for an exact address and shipping instructions, "the school’s secretary Lisa Palermo told them what they really needed was hand sanitizer because the kids were afraid to use the tap water to wash their hands."

Little Isiah Britt decided to take it one step further.

From the Post, "Isiah got on the phone himself. He wanted to know how many classrooms (16) and how many students (370). He told Palermo he was going to raise enough money to send her what she needed."

After determining that $500 would be enough to supply a Purell dispenser for each classroom, he decided to start a GoFundMe page to raise more money to provide dispensers to lots of classrooms in lots of Flint schools. His dad, The Post reports, helped him write his mission statement for the crowdfunding site that his mom set up.

So far, they've raised nearly $10,000 and Purell is matching all of the donations Britt receives.
