The sixth season of "Game of Thrones" may be over, but the great marketing game is just beginning. Who wants a custom "Game of Thrones" Xbox One? Maybe you!
Microsoft and HBO are teaming up to create just six of the custom, bananas-looking Xbox One game consoles.
Will it have these ridiculous rings sticking off of it?
Don't pull out your debit card just yet, friends — there's only one way to get one of these bad boys, and it's by participating in a contest (that, yes, is also marketing for "Game of Thrones" of course).
Here are the instructions, per Xbox France:
—Xbox FR (@XboxFR) June 27, 2016
In case you don't speak French (and don't have International Man of Mystery Antonio Villa-Boas as a co-worker to translate French for you), that says, "RT & tweet #XboxLovesGoT to win the #XboxOne collector #GameOfThrones & the integral box."
Which is to say, "Simply tweet something with 'XboxLovesGoT' in it to be entered for a chance to win one of the six custom Xbox Ones and a Blu-ray box set of 'Game of Thrones' Seasons 1-5."
It's not clear if there are regional limitations to this contest, but the barrier to entry is so low that entering probably isn't the worst idea regardless. Besides, how many chances are there to enter a contest where winning means having a game console with a power button that glows like wildfire?
