Samsung announced the new Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on Sunday at MWC in Barcelona, and the company sweetened the deal for anyone thinking of pre-ordering the phones.
You'll get a free Gear VR headset, as well as a 6-game bundle, when you pre-order a Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge between February 23 and March 18.
You'll have to redeem your free Gear VR through Samsung's promotional website when it becomes available.
The Gear VR is a virtual reality (VR) headset that uses Samsung's latest flagship devices, including the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, and Note 5, to play VR content. It sells for $99 if you buy it separately from the Galaxy S7 pre-order.
Through one of the compatible Samsung Galaxy phones, you can play VR content, like videos and games. Using their accelerometers, the phones can detect which direction you move your head, which lets you look around the VR content. The headset uses lenses made by Oculus, makers of the Oculus Rift VR headset.
The Galaxy S7 pre-orders begin on February 23, and will become available to buy on March 11. Price for the Galaxy S7 haven't been announced yet, and it will vary from carrier to carrier.
By the way, if you have a Samsung phone that's already compatible with the Gear VR, you'd be crazy not to buy one. It's that good.
To take your own virtual reality videos and photos, Samsung also introduced the Gear 360. It looks like an old webcam, but it has two lenses to capture near-2K (3840 x 1920) 360-degree videos and photos. You can record your adventures with the Gear 360 and watch it with the Gear VR and the compatible Samsung smartphones.
Unfortunately, the Gear 360 is not included in the Galaxy S7 pre-order package. Samsung hasn't announced pricing for the Gear 360, but it'll be available in the second quarter of this year.
