Early looks at "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" — a prequel to the "Harry Potter" series set in 1926 — have been noticeably absent of any beasts, fantastic or otherwise.

However, we do have an idea of some of the creatures that will appear in next November's film. After all, the movie is based on a fictional textbook of the same name assigned to Harry in "The Sorcerer's Stone."

J.K. Rowling actually wrote and published a version of "Fantastic Beasts" for us muggles to read. The 88-page book is an encyclopedia of creatures, with a foreword from Dumbledore himself. We read through it, looking for creatures who were either familiar from the original series, or seemed likely to turn up in Rowling's screenplay due to their lengthy entries.

In November, Entertainment Weekly confirmed two magical critters that will accompany Newt Scamander in the movies: A bowtruckle and a niffler. But let's take a look at some of the other creature you may see in the coming film.
