On Monday, you may have seen what looked like a New York Times article floating around the internet announcing that Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren had endorsed Bernie Sanders for president.

There's just one problem: Warren hasn't endorsed anyone for president.

The article was created using a hoax-website creator called Clone Zone, which lets users create fake webpages and articles that look strikingly similar to popular news sites.

Here's an example of a different New York Times-style story about Donald Trump.

The Clone Zone story about Warren and Sanders racked up over 50,000 views and 15,000 shares on Facebook, the New York Times (the real one) reportsSince then, it has since asked Clone Zone to take the story down, as well as any others that imitate its style and masthead. Now, if you try to read the story about Warren and Sanders, you'll see this cease and desist notification.

This isn't the first time people have fallen for a hoax report on politics. Earlier in 2016, Tech Insider reported on a man who wrote an insane Donald Trump erotic novel in just 24 hours. The story was inspired by fake news website designed to look just like the Huffington Post.
