Forget flying cars, there's now a drone you can take a ride in.

The Chinese drone company EHang unveiled an electric autonomous drone Wednesday at CES that is capable of transporting a single passenger.

The personal autonomous aerial vehicle is called the EHang 184 and is about 4.9 feet tall, weighs 440 pounds, and can carry a load of 220 pounds.

The aircraft, which is entirely powered by electricity, is capable of carrying a single passenger 23 minutes at sea level at an average cruising speed of 62 miles per hour, EHang said. The aircraft's maximum flying altitude is over 11,000 feet.

To get from point A to point B, a passenger simply enters their desired location into the smartphone app and the drone does the rest of the work.

EHang claims that the 184 can fully charge in four hours or two hours with quick charging.

Now, obviously there are some regulatory issues the company must address before it can begin selling the giant drone. But the company said that it plans to make the aircraft commercially available in 2016 and will do a world tour to demo the aircraft.

EHang's chief operating officer George Yan told Tech Insider that the company is still in the early process of working with different regulatory agencies to get the 184 approved for operation.

However, EHang has not yet revealed pricing for the aircraft nor specified where exactly it would become available.

To help address safety concerns, the company said it is also in the process of building an advanced low-altitude flight command center which will be in constant contact with all flying vehicles.

EHang's founder Shang Wen Hsiao said that in the event that there is an issue, the aircraft is designed in such a way to return to land safely.
