This wildly adventurous couple sold everything they owned to travel the world in a sailboat

Last winter, this couple decided to do something crazy — they quit their jobs, sold their house, and decided see the world by sailboat.

Now, the duo  — who prefer to be called Captain and Charlie in lieu of their full names — is traveling the Mediterranean Sea and documenting their travels in incredible pictures on their blog and on Instagram.

From Barcelona, Spain, to Cinque Terre, Italy, Captain and Charlie have snapped pictures of stunning sunsets and incredible blue waters that will make you consider dropping everything and heading for the nearest marina.

They sold their house, bought a sailboat, and spent several months living with Charlie's mother while they prepared for the trip.

While they were excited, Charlie says they also definitely knew they were taking a risk.

"So many people wait until retirement to go cruising," she told Tech Insider. "The way we see it, there is little reward without a little risk."

Not to mention, they've racked up over 6,000 followers since they started posting pictures of their trip on Instagram.

Since setting sail in May, the couple has traveled to countries all over the Mediterranean Sea.

Charlie is more about enjoying the total experience. " We spend the days with hammocks, books, music, paddle boards, snorkels," she said.

"Neither of us had lived on boat before, in fact we didn't have nearly enough sailing experience to undertake such a feat. But we did it anyway," Charlie explained.
