French fries are becoming an unlikely symbol of the attacks in Brussels

Two explosions shook Zaventem Airport and another ripped through the Maelbeek metro station in Brussels on Tuesday morning, killing at least 28 people and injuring dozens more.

Now, people are showing their support through an unlikely source: french fries.

The fried potatoes originated in in Belgium, so it only makes sense that people would eat them to honor the people of Brussels. 

BuzzFeed's Ryan Broderick also pointed out the trend on Twitter.
