Hammacher Schlemmer is known for some creative products, from tailgate hammocks to a backyard zipline kit.
And now the company is selling this $500 Bunyanesque Hammock that can hold five 200 pounds adults.
And we want to try it.
The 15-foot-long and eight-food-wide hammock is essentially the same width as 2 1/4 king-sized mattresses and is made from the same nylon in an FAA-certified parachute rigger.
Because of how heavy-duty the hammock is, Hammacher Schlemmer says it can support up to 1,100 pounds.
It’s held up by one-inch-wide sturdy nylon straps that stretch over 20 feet long and are attached to trees or posts with steel hooks. From the single image we have from the website, it looks pretty intense.
While the $499.95 hammock will set you back, it apparently comes with a lifetime guarantee: “We will replace or refund the cost of any item, at any time." You know, in case you break your gigantic hammock.
