Apple made these incredibly rare sneakers in the '90s, and no one knows who owns them today

What if Apple made sneakers? We don't have to wonder, because, as it turns out, the tech giant made a pair of kicks in the 1990s.

Although no one knows for sure, it appears that only one pair of the sneakers were ever produced.

They probably didn't garner enough interest at the time, so Apple abandoned them as promotional items, according to BitRebels.

The Adidas sneakers are made from the typical white leather material of the times. They feature Apple's iconic rainbow logo on the tongue and on the side. The soles are made from rubber that supposedly doesn't leave skid marks.

No one knows where the sneakers are today. They were first sold to a lucky Apple employee some time in the mid-'90s. They later sold for a mere $79 on eBay in 2007.

There's plenty of other Apple corporate memorabilia available online. This Apple pen (not to be confused with today's Apple Pencil) from the '90s is listed at $139.99. You can also pick up this Apple toy car for the same price, or this "Think Different" watch for $495.

As far as we know, Apple has no plans to manufacture sneakers, though this digital designer created a pretty clever prototype. But If Apple made sneakers in the future, I'd expect they'd have a few more Marty McFly-esque features, like automatic laces controlled by my iPhone.
