One of the iPhone models that Apple will release in 2017 will have a glass body like the iPhone 4 generation had, according to the Japanese news service Nikkei.

The information comes from Allen Horng, CEO of Catcher Technology, which is one of Apple's main suppliers of iPhone casings.

It's not clear if the model in question will be the full-sized iPhones with 4.7 or 5.5-inch screens, or if it'll be an update to the smaller, 4-inch iPhone SE.

Horng's claims line up with previous analysis from renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a great track record with Apple product predictions, that an iPhone to be released in 2017 will have a glass back.

Rumors about the 2017 iPhone have already sprouted even before the iPhone 7's predicted Fall 2016 release, and it sounds like Apple is gearing up for something radical for the iPhone's tenth birthday.

As plugged-in Apple pundit John Gruber said the other day, the entire front surface of the 2017 iPhone might be a display, which means there won't be borders or bezels surrounding the display as they have done in every iPhone model so far. There have also been reports of wireless charging from Bloomberg and an improved OLED display from Kuo.
