Rumors of Apple wanting to make its own TV shows are apparently true.

The iPhone maker is creating its own scripted series featuring none other than Dr. Dre, the rapper-producer turned headphones mogul who joined Apple when it bought Beats in 2014.

The show will be called "Vital Signs" and premiere exclusively on Apple Music, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dre is starring in and executive producing the six-episode "semi-autobiographical" series, the report notes.

Don't expect the show to adhere to Apple's squeaky-clean corporate image, either.

"While technically a half-hour, the show is not a comedy," according to THR. "Instead, it is described as a dark drama with no shortage of violence and sex." There's reportedly even an orgy scene.

Apple Music, by contrast, mutes all cursing during its Beats 1 radio broadcasts.

The Street reported last month that Apple was still courting Hollywood execs to secure rights to its own streaming TV service and even thinking about producing its own shows. Tapping Dre for a show makes sense given the recent success of the movie "Straight Outta Compton," which revolves around the early days of Dre's rap group N.W.A.

Dr. Dre and Apple's relationship came under fire last summer when news about Dre's alleged assault of female TV host Dee Barnes in 1991 resurfaced. Apple, which paid $3 billion for Dre and Jimmy Iovine's Beats enterprise, stood behind Dre's public apology.
