The new iPhone SE has surprisingly good battery life

The new iPhone SE may be small in size, but it's big on battery life.

In some cases, the phone, which Apple announced on Monday, even lasts longer than all other iPhones, including the iPhone 6S Plus, the biggest and most expensive iPhone ever made.

According to Apple, you can browse the internet with the SE for up to 13 hours on both LTE and on WiFi before the battery dies. The iPhone 6S Plus only lasts for 12 hours.

In terms of talk time and standby time, the 6S and 6S Plus significantly outperform the smaller SE.

It makes sense that the smaller SE would have longer battery life when the display is being used. Even though it's a smaller phone, and most likely has a smaller battery (Apple doesn't include battery size in the tech specs it makes public), the phone has a significantly smaller display. And the display is the biggest battery hog on phones.

What companies say online with regards to battery life can vary with real world use, so we'll have to wait and see if the SE lives up to these expectations when we test the phone ourselves.
