While many New Yorkers tried to stay warm during this past weekend's Jonas blizzard, a few Greenpoint, Brooklyn residents took it upon themselves to make something out of the second-largest snowfall in New York's history.
Patrick Horton, an advertising art director, and his roommates made an igloo in their backyard and listed it on Airbnb for $200 per night.
"Dripping with ingenuity and alt-lifestyle aura lays the Snowpocalypse of 2016's most desirable getaway," read the listing, which has since been pulled from Airbnb's website. "Hand-crafted, and built using only natural elements– we're offering the experience of a lifetime in this chick dome-style bungalow for you and bae."
Horton described the listing as a prank in an interview with DNAinfo New York. He said the igloo took three hours to construct on Sunday, and by that evening he'd received an email from Airbnb explaining why the listing had been removed.
Airbnb cited "occupancy standards" not being met, but a company employee did offer Horton a $50 coupon for booking another Airbnb reservation as a guest.
